Owen really couldn't have cared less about meeting Santa this year, or really Christmas in general. Still, we had an amazing 1st Christmas with our sweet little boy. The fact that everything was a first for him made it seem like a first for us. I cannot wait until he really grasps the concept of Christmas and can have a reaction to everything. I'd apologize for the overload of pictures that you're about to see... but really I don't care if you don't like it.
Jake's family had their usual Christmas soup party.
The cutest shepherds to ever exist.
The party wouldn't have been complete without some chime action.
Cute Holland as a shepherd playing his kazoo... All the best shepherds play the kazoo.
We partied too hard for this guy.
Went to Gardner Village with the cousin's to see the elves.
Merry Christmas my darling boy!
He was obsessed with this present. The only one he would go after under the tree.
Showing off our gingerbread houses before our annual demolition! (Our house was the prettiest for sure)
Erika's first year making her very own. She was pretty proud.
This was just sad.
Elliot's first year making his very own as well... And he WON!!!
Christmas Morning. Owen going to town on any toy we handed him.
These two make my heart unbelievably happy! <3
Owen is obsessed with chocolate! I'm such a bad mom for giving him some at a young age, but I just know that chocolate makes the world happy and he had to know about it... maybe I should have waited. This kid will dive to anyone if he sees them opening a chocolate candy.
A few days after Christmas Owen hit his 8 month mark!
By 8 Months this Strong baby of ours:
- Finally can get up on his knees in crawling position. He absolutely hates it but he can do it. It doesn't last longer than a few seconds but we're on our way to crawling!
- realizes now that he has to HOLD ON to things in order not to fall. (such as my hands, the edge of the table, or his walker)
- is walking around the coffee table like a pro and can transfer from the coffee table to the couch. He absolutely loves walking around the house while holding on to my hands. It's literally how I spend a good majority of my days.
- Celebrated his first Christmas!
- has finally decided he loves Puffs and yogurt melts.
- has become a pretty big chatter box at home. Usually once he leaves the house he wont make a sound. He gets really shy around others, and just prefers to observe everything rather than say anything about it.
Lazy Mornings watching cartoons. (he literally does not care about anything on the tv. I'm pretty sure he stayed in this pose for a good 5 seconds)
Jake GRADUATED this December! We are both beyond excited! It has been wonderful having him home now that he is finally done! I feel like the proudest wife in the universe. He is such a hard and dedicated working and I love him so much for all the hard work he's done for our family. This is such a huge accomplishment! Not only did he finish with school but he was working a full time job while doing so. Oh and did I mention he was taking so many classes this last semester that he had to get special permission from the school to take so many in 1 semester? Cuz yeah, he did that too. All while being the such a perfect husband and father. I'm so grateful I get to call him mine. He's my best friend and I'm so glad I was able to celebrate this milestone with him! I love you Jake!
If you didn't jump like this after your last class ever, you're doing life wrong.
Our really random sign we put up for when Jake walked through the door! There is no rhyme or reason for the colors at all.
You guys... This is pretty legit.
Owen got a little carried away in the celebrations.
One of Owen's favorite spots in the house. He thinks that baby in the mirror is so funny.
We snap photos of Owen during the boring parts of church/always
But really, he rocks that cardigan.
Owen has really been such an easy baby. I'm pretty worried about having another baby one day. What if I have a difficult baby? Like how Jake's mom describes him? I don't know if I could handle it! haha I've been so spoiled with my perfect little Owen. I'm constantly getting comments from friends and family about how mellow he is. He really is such a sweet little boy. When he gets tired he doesn't whine or cry but just rests his head on me and just rubs his eyes, even when he's overtired he doesn't act up. He sleeps really well too. If he does wake up before 6 it's just for a minute and I get his binky back in his mouth and he goes right to sleep. He usually wakes up around 6 to eat and then will go back to sleep until between 8 - 9. I'm not sure how I'm going to ween him from that feeding but I'll worry about that later.
