By 6 months this beautiful child of ours:
- has tried a few baby foods and loves them! So far he's had Peaches, Pears, Prunes, Apples, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, mashed up Avocado, and homemade Peas and Green Beans. There is nothing this kid wont eat so far! (except oatmeal cereal. I have to mix that in with other foods to get him to eat it.)
- is rolling around all over the place. He's started to realize that he can get closer to things when he rolls.
- is learning to sit up by himself. As of now he can sit up on his own for about a minute without falling over. I can just sit him on the floor and put his Boppy behind him and he does really well. I still can't completely trust him though.
- has become constipated for the first time! :( poor thing. He went a week without a bowl movement before we even gave him any food. After giving him food he would still hardly go and if he did it was really hard. I felt so bad. After talking to his doctor we gave him milk of magnesia and he has been doing better. Thank goodness.
- is still drooling like crazy! Still no teeth. One of these days one will show up. Because I'm still nursing him, I'm totally ok with the teeth taking their sweet time. :)
- had his 6 month check up. He's now 17.13 lbs (43%) and 28 inches tall (93%) He's a tall skinny bambino.
- Also got his 6 month shots. :( His cry this time around was the worst ever. I definitely wish I could be the one to get the shots for him. He has to go back at the beginning of next month to get a second flu shot. It's a 2 part shot for him. So lame.
- He is so fascinated with people's mouths. I don't know why but he just loves shoving his hands in everyone's mouth. So WARNING: if you ever hold him don't let him put his hands in your mouth! They have already been in mine and about 5 other peoples.
- is transitioning from having to be wrapped to sleep to letting his hands out. We just wrap him loosely so that while he's sleeping he can get his hands out, but now he stays asleep.
- started rolling onto his belly to sleep. He seems to want to prefer it. It makes me nervous but I don't want to go in there all the time to roll him back over. I'm so glad we have a video monitor so I can at least see that his head is turned to the side. Phew!
- is as healthy as ever. He's just a funny happy baby!
We found the Perfect Jack-o-lantern this year!
We went witch hunting at Gardner Village this year with his cousins.
Just a little hike before it got too cold.
We love walking around Silver Lake!
Owen wanted to test out part of his dad's Halloween costume.
He loves him some peaches!
Jake absolutely hates pictures of children with messy faces. Hates them. So of course I make sure to get plenty of Owen! Prunes are a messy business. He's still the cutest.
We cheered his cousin Elliot on for his 1st 5K! We were so proud of that amazing kid! He finished his 5K in just over 28 minutes! Woo Hoo!
6 month check up. Just before his shots. :(
So I've been taking pictures of Owen next to his little bear from the time he was 2 weeks old. It's fun to see how much he grows every month. I can't believe how tiny this kid used to be. It really breaks my heart about how big he has gotten in such a short amount of time. It's so hard to think that one day my baby is going to be taller than me! (for his sake hopefully he'll be taller than me)
6 MONTHS!
I seriously cannot believe how fast these past 6 months have been. I could not imagine my life without this little stinker. I really miss sleep, but it's worth it with this amazing boy. He seriously makes every day fun and amazing for us.

He is SO cute! I can't believe he's six months already. Hope you guys are doing well!
