It's Here...

Once every 4 years...with a wait that long, you know it's for something epic...and I ain't talking about leap year... The whole world (especially outside of the U.S.) has been counting down the days for this. The time is now.

That's right! The World Cup is here!

Now, I've loved the game of soccer all my life, me being an all-star in the pee-wee leagues of course (see picture below)...

Me, a Stud.

But I never truly understood what the World Cup means to people outside of this country until 4 years ago. In July 2006 Italy was the World Cup Champions and just a couple weeks later I left on my mission to that beautiful place. Nothing can describe the joy and pride those people have for the sport and for their team winning the worlds greatest tournament. I am happy to have brought that excitement and pride home with me. I actually have gotten Jen excited for it as well.

Now, I feel it's essential to talk about something quite important since we are on the topic of the best sport in the world and it's imperative that I don't sound too Ricky Martin but...I want to talk about my two Man-Crushes.

David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo
(not too shabby...amirite?)

I've known about these two for years now and have had a total heterosexual crush on each one. Sadly, Mr. Beckham won't be playing in the Cup this year cause of his achilles tear that he suffered but my boy Ronaldo will be rockin' it for Portugal. Keep an eye out for him...you know I will ;)

Jen has always had a thing for US Goalie Tim Howard
Maybe not because of his looks but she thinks he's an amazing goalkeeper...which I have to agree with.

Anyways, sorry this post is pretty lame but just do me a huge favor and watch a game or two of the worlds best athletes playing against each other. May I suggest U.S. vs. England tomorrow? It's going to be good.

P.S. - We thought it best to put this years World Cup theme song on the page just to get you all in the mood. I know I am. Oh...and check out this video if you still aint feeling the hype.
