Elliot...

I just thought I'd let everyone know that my baby Nephew Elliot was in the ICU for a couple of days because of a bad fall on Sunday. He's the "Luckiest Unlucky" little boy according to the doctors. They told us they've had kids die from much less. He was talking to his friends through his bedroom window when the screen fell out and he fell into a bush. Nick pulled out a piece of wood from his head about 2 inches long or so and at first the doctors thought that was all they would find... after being life-flighted to Primary Childrens the doctors decided he needed surgery in case there was still pieces inside his head, they pulled out a piece of wood about 5 in long and another piece about 3 inches. We have no idea how that was even possible such a short fall. (he was on the bottom level of the house) How he fell hard enough to have these pieces of wood go through into his brain is beyond us. He's out of the ICU now (thank goodness) but will need to be staying in the Hospital for a while. The doctors say about 3 weeks but we're hoping less than that.

Poor little guy. The tubes and Neck brace are gone but his eye is even bigger now. :(

It's a miracle that it's not more serious than it is and that he's alive. The doctors say it's impossible the way the stick went in that it didn't pierce an artery or hit the brain stem. A millimeter any direction and he would not be with us anymore. He's doing really well now and talking a lot and getting back to his normal self. It was hard but we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. Thank you everyone for yor support and prayers. It means a lot to me and my family. I love you Elliot and can't wait till you're back to your crazy self!
