So... I have no idea what I'm doing on this thing so bear with me. I'll apologize now, but this is going to be a long post. It'll be like the past few months threw up on this page. If this gets too boring for you, you may stop reading our blog... I may never talk to you again... and sense I control Jake he will no longer be talking to you either. J/K... but really. :)
This blog is our of way of informing people what's going on with Jake and I, our wedding plans and everything after the day I become Mrs. Hommes. <---- I miss my last name already. :( Nevermind. It will be nice not dealing with James Bond jokes. Now I'll spend the rest of my life explaining to people that "my name is not holmes! It's Home-iss." Joy. Really though I can't wait to be married to Jake! He's my Best friend and I'm so lucky to be with him.
WE'RE ENGAGED!!!
12/12/09 Our first taken after he proposed! (excuse the puffy eyes)
OK OK so this may be somewhat old news but we're still as excited as ever! Wedding plans have been going really well. I've taken this week off and haven't even wanted to think about anything that has to do with a white dress and cake but I think this week I need to get back on track with it. We already have a reception site booked, photographers taken care of and my DRESS! I'm a little way excited about my dress. I'm not going to lie. (and I better be, it's just a tad over my budget but did I mention how much I LOVE it?) It's from Maggie Sottero and it's amazing! I'm pretty awful at taking pictures of everything (hopefully that will change now that I'm a blogger) but here is the link to see the dress before it's altered. I know I know it doesn't look like it could be altered very well but trust me, it will look amazing! Still so much to do but everything so far has gone smooth. (knocking on wood)
This year was our first Christmas together and no pictures were taken... yes we do suck. We were just thinking the same thing. BUT our new years res is to lose 20 lbs and take more pictures. Don't even worry. We spent Christmas eve with Jake's family and then Christmas with mine. Opening presents with my brother and his family was way fun. They have little kids so that makes it all the better. I wont get into how obsessed I am with my little niece but you'll hear about it in other posts I'm sure.
New years was fun. We spent it with our "Married" friends... Yes we are transitioning. We went out to eat and sledding and then rang in the New Year from the top of the Wells Fargo Building. Not a bad way to start off 2010.
Our group waiting to go to the roof
Still Just waiting (We're pretty good looking, Lets be honest)
Free Margaritas! Compliments of La Cocina. (alcohol free of course)
4 days later we celebrated our 1 yr anniversary! GO US! I love him more than ever! Again no pictures were taken... but really we didn't do much. I had a gyno appointment and then we planned our whole wedding. TMI? well it's my blog so get used to it... oh yeah and Jake's blog too. However, we did manage to snap a couple of photos from tonight. We went out and celebrated Jake getting a RAISE! He chose to celebrate this occasion by going to the ever so classy TGI Fridays! According to him he was "craving me a Jack Daniels Burger." And that is a small part of why I love him. But while taking a few steps backwards from one New Years res we managed to fulfill another. Here is our proof.
Jake relishing in the fruits of his labor
Me Super excited to be marrying Mr. Moneybags! (You'd know I'm kidding if you knew how broke we are, Hence why we're eating at Fridays) A raise is a raise and I'm so proud of my boo.
That should bring you up to date with what's going on with us. We'll try to post as much as we can... Jake is included in this. He'll hopefully be posting as much as me. He says he will so we'll see. Goodnight.
