I figured I'd do an update on our happenings. Neil Diamond is at Rio Tinto stadium tonight so I'll give everyone one guess as to where Jake is... To top off the nerdiness that is us I'll be watching LOTR tonight with my family. Don't judge us too harshly.
This summer has been really fun. We live for the weekends! One of these days we'll be alive to the world on a day like wednesday. Not for a while though. Every weekend we try to get to the pool or go for a hike. I know it was forever ago, but the weekend before the 4th was Nick and Katie's anniversary, so we took the kids to Taylorsville dayzz so they could have a night sans kids. The kids went on a couple of rides and then we met up w/ Jake's family and listened to a Neil Diamond impersonator, that impressed Jake, and watched the fireworks. I've never been before even though we both grew up in Taylorsville, and I don't know why. We loved it! I suck at the whole picture thing and these are the only ones we got that night. The kids were so so tired! I love them so much!
We've spent a few days this summer with one of Jake's best friends Tyler at his lake house at Last Chance. Tyler moved to Tampa a couple of days ago so we wanted to spend some time with him before he left. The last time we went out there the guys went camping and then the girls met up with them the next day at the lake. We'll miss him but we hope he loves it in Tampa! Luckily the Jumper's get back from Minnesota at the end of August! They've been gone this whole summer and and it's just been us and the Kikkerts left in Utah. At least we still have them!
When the guys get together they turn into such boys. It's so cute. :)
A couple weeks ago we hiked up Bell Canyon. It is pretty steep and we are so sadly out of shape but I love it up there. One of the prettiest hikes we've done. I would definitely recommed it to everyone! There are giant rocks around the resevoir that you can just sit and relax on. So nice.
We're looking forward to next week because it's the Marshall Family Reunion at Bear Lake! We wont be going up until Thursday morning but we'll take what we can get! All day on the beach and boat for a couple of days doesn't sound too bad to me! Things are going to be crazy up there though sense there were 6 babies born between this years and last years. That will be interesting to have all of them there. I wasn't able to make it last year so I'm really excited to see everyone up there! I wish we could be there longer than the 2 days... then again w/ all those babies... maybe 2 days will be perfect! ;)
That's been our summer so far. Nothing too crazy but it's been fun! I hope everyone has fun watching the Olympics for the next couple of weeks! Phelps has already broken my heart but there is still so much more to see!
