We are so ready to get our Christmas on you have no idea! This month has been so busy getting ready and spending time with family. I'm loving every moment of the Christmas season... and it's even better to be celebrating our first Christmas married! It's been so fun starting new traditions and spending time with both our families. First we got together with my family and built our first gingerbread houses! More like graham cracker houses but we're not all about being politically correct in my family... Like the time my dad asked me since when was is bad to call me oriental?... yeah my dad says racial slurs about his children. It was the kids first time building one and Elliot didn't seem to care much and Erika kept piling more and more uh crap on hers. Christmas eve we plan on destroying them and seeing who's holds up the most. Destruction is the name of our game. One day we aspire to use actual gingerbread but our cheep crackers will suffice for this year.

Our masterpiece! Complete with garage and Santa in the chimney!

Our little Christmas village. Complete with Katie's Chapel.
We're praying it snows for Christmas! I'm getting tired of this rain mush. I want a white Christmas! I don't understand how people in warm weather can get in the holiday mood! I'm baffled... then jealous after christmas because let's be honest, anytime after December 25th snow is dreadful. We went and saw Temple lights with Nick and his family, Chris, and Nate the other night and no snow. It's never the same. But the Elliot was so cute! The whole time I could hear him telling his mom, "See those lights over there?... that's crazy huh?" "those lights are awesome huh?". Awe so cute. Erika already acts so grown up for her age and it's sad sometimes because it's like nothing phases her. We're all just waiting for her to tell us Santa's not real instead of us informing her one day! I can't believe how big she's getting, but I'm loving it.

Little stud!
Christmas eve we'll be spending with my family and Christmas day with Jake's... then Christmas night with mine again... We're going to have to get used to having our families play tug of war with us. j/k both our families are easy going so it's not too stressful. Oh and in case you were wondering this is the family I married into.

The angels... I had to steal pictures from Jake's cute aunt Sandy's FB. Thanks Sandy!

The Shepherds

Our Wise Men... Debatable.
This year was my 2nd year going to the Marshall Christmas party at Jake's aunt's house in bountiful. They always act out the Nativity along with singing the songs that go along with it. Then throw around our white elephant gifts until the wrapping is practically off before deciding it's time to open them. It's this party and Bear Lake every year that showcase's Jake's weird, uh I mean crazy fun family. Really though I love his family and I'm glad I married into such a great family.
Now we're just counting down the days until Christmas! Jake let's me know every day! I just love him so much. I hope everyone has an Amazing Christmas and (in case we don't blog before 2011) a Happy New Year!
Love, Jen
